메조테라피는 "메조건"이라는 특수한 주사 기구나 손으로 주사하는 방법 등을 사용해 통증 없이 환부에서 가장 가까운 피내, 피하에 환자의 질병에 맞는 최소량의 혼합 약물을 주사하는 방법이다. 이 방법은 1952년 프랑스 의사인 PISTOR가 창안한 시술법으로 1987년 프랑스 의학회에서 전통의학의 한 분야로 인정을 받고 있는 치료로 비만, 피부미용, 통증분야에 효능을 인정 받고 있다. 프랑스에서만 약 16,000 여명의 의사가 메조테라피를 하고 있으며 유럽, 미국, 아프리카, 남미 등에서 피부미용, 비만, 통증에 활발하게 시술이 이루어지고 있다. 단시간에 큰 효과를 얻을 수가 있어 최근에 우리나라에 도입되어 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다.

주름을 자연스럽게 개선해 주는 메소리프트(MesoLift)는 비타민 및 항산화제를 직접 피부에 주사하여 피부의 건강을 되찾아주는 시술이며, 메소보톡스(MesoBotox)는 주름 개선에 사용되던 보톡스를 활용한 기법으로 이 또한 얼굴의 주름을 개선하는데 효과적이다. 또한 아무리 운동을 해도 빠지지 않는 부위인 셀룰라이트(cellulite)도 메소테리피로 치료가 가능하여 몸매관리를 돕는 치료로 활용되고 있다. 최근에는 탈모에도 효능이 입증되어 약물복용이 어려운 환자나 수술이 힘든 경우에 탈모 메조테라피 시술이 좋은 효과를 인정 받고 있다.

탈모 메조테라피는 우선 탈모 부위의 두피를 알코올 솜으로 깨끗하게 닦은 후 필요한 약물(혈관확장제, 태반제재, 말초순환 장애 개선제, 비타민 활성제제)을 혼합하여 메조건을 통해 주입한다. 국소적인 미세순환계를 개선해 줌으로써 모낭의 노화를 늦추는 원리이다. 메조건의 경우 통증이 거의 없는 것이 특징으로 환자의 고통 없이 시술할 수 있다. 처음에는 1주 간격으로 5회 정도 시술하게 되고 그 다음에는 보름간격으로 3회, 한 달 간격으로 2회 시술 한 후 유지요법으로 2개월에 한번 정도 시술 받으면 최대의 효과를 얻을 수 있다.
